Almost simultane- ously, a few large local fi rms elected to become absorbed by an even larger, publicly held corporation. One consequence is that these fi rms now serve a new management hierarchy outside the city, indeed outside the country. What’s more, these fi rms are also now beholden to faceless public shareholders. Sudler holds fi rm to a decidedly different approach to our business: We remain a privately held company, head- quartered in the same city in which we were founded nearly a century ago: Chicago. Louis Sudler founded our fi rm in 1927 based on the kind of exceptional service consistently delivered that merits trust. To that end, our historic private-ownership structure keeps Sudler people close to the clients they serve. It ensures our people remain unburdened by dictates from some distant management. It frees them to make on-the-spot decisions The simple truth: Private ownership is a powerful reason why… What Sudler’s private ownership means to our clients.
